Rolex price increases are important because the United States is the largest market in the brand. Rolex produces more than one million watches per year and is the best-selling Swiss brand in the United States by sale. Other Swiss brands, which, in addition to pricing costs, also suffer from the appreciation of the Swiss franc compared to the US dollar and the increase in input costs from a record increase in the price of gold, should follow suit.
Omega, the manufacturer of Speedmaster and Seamaster models, is expected to increase prices on average by 5% from May 1, said people familiar with the case. Omega is one of the five largest Swiss brands by sale, according to Vontobel analysts.
The increase in Omega prices comes after the parent company Swatch Group AG, whose other brands include Blanchepain and Glashutte original, confirmed last week that it increased prices between 8% and 10% for certain brands in response to prices and to strengthen the franc against a low American dollar.
