Ammon – A new event to come for the month of July in a local city will encourage people to share their talents with an open micro evening. There will also be a lot of food available to take advantage of it.
The city of Ammon puts “Tasty Mic Tuesday Nights” every Tuesday in July, for a total of five nights.
It will be at the Gazebo of McCowin Park. No Limit Guitar Co. sponsors the event.
“We know that there are a lot of talents in this area like community theater and where people want to share their talents. So we thought we might have an open microphone and have food trucks, “said Randal Miller, Director of Leisure at Ammon.
There is an open microphone part from 6 to 7:45 p.m.
“If people want to come, there is no need to pre-register or anything. Come and connect you. Everyone has about 10 minutes and that includes your configuration time and any type of micro checking you want to do,” said Miller.
Two microphones will be provided, as well as a guitar amplifier, speakers and piano.
“Remember that for the open microphone portion … It’s a family event, so keep it clean. That’s all we ask,” added Miller.
After the open microphone, a local group will play from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the first Tuesday evening July 1, the OCD will occur.
There will also be eight food trucks present, notably the tsunami of Soda, the Bretzels with papa knots, 208 Food Hub, Los Tacotes, Creamy Daze, Sasser’s Sweets, Alridge Eats and The Great Bambino.
The answer to the new event was positive, according to social media, and Miller hopes for good participation.
“We like to try new things in Ammon and we always try to do something that is fun and family and to involve the community,” he said.
