Trussville is growing! (Jacob Blankenship / Bham now)

Since Hall’s Motor Sports moved to Trussville, its former home on South Chalkville Road has sat empty.

Alabama-based general contractor Seay Construction has proposed a plan for the space, which the Trussville City Council will vote on Tuesday evening, Jan. 21.

Entertainment area proposed for South Chalkville Road in Trussville

6345 South Chalkville Road was home to Hall’s Motor Sports until June 2024, when the business moved to Roosevelt Boulevard.

The now-vacant 35,500-square-foot building is awaiting a new tenant, and Seay Construction wants to bring retail, restaurants, entertainment and more there.

According to the Trussville TribuneSeay Construction estimates the development could generate $13 million in taxable income annually.

For the resolution to be considered, the city would forgo two-thirds of the sales tax revenue generated by businesses participating in the development over the next 10 years. The city also agrees to waive all permit fees.

The tentative name is Cahaba Station, and the plan shows an additional entertainment area and outdoor dining venue scheduled to open in 2026.
