A shopping center for several decades in the western suburbs will be redeveloped and brought back to life as a new catering and entertainment district, according to a press release, with up to 10 new restaurants and more ready to open in the next two years.
The development of $ 53 million, called Block 59 at the corner of Route 59 and Aurora Avenue in Naperville, should reconfigure and “reinvent” Heritage square And Westridge Court, which opened in 1990.

“Our research indicated that there was a gap in the restoration options on the west side of Naperville, people who have to travel up to 20 miles for some of their favorite restaurants,” said Rich Dippolito, vice-president of the redevelopment of the Brixmor Property Group in the press release. “This was associated with a high demand for restoration space by the best class brands … causing us to reinvent the center in a new way.”
Some of the beloved restaurants should open to the new restaurant include The Cheesecake factoryStan’s Donuts, Yard House, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Piccolo Buco by Cooper’s Hawk, First Watch, Fresh Fine Poke, Crisp & Green and Velvet Taco, the statement said.
The redeveloped space will also include an outdoor place, developed developers, with improved pedestrian paths, updated restaurant patios, new LED lighting and public gathering spaces for events.

“Our goal is to create a place that reflects the Naperville community,” said Dippolito. “The Plaza offers a space where tenants and community groups can accommodate fitness or performance courses.”
The center is already anchored by popular retailers, including the Fresh Market Grocery Store, Ulta Beauty, a Hollywood Palms Cinema cinema and a Wayfair Outlet, which opened in October 2024.
The construction of the project began in July 2024, according to the press release, with the demolition of two underused buildings. Some new meals, including Shack Shake, have already opened in the center, with a restaurant of 8,700 square feet cheese cake that will open on June 17.

“Bloc 59 is one of Naperville’s new online projects this year and next year,” said Mayor Scott Wehrli in a statement. “As a number two restoration destination in the state of Illinois, this project completely transforms the corner of Aurora avenue and Route 59 into a Gateway of Today ” in Naperville, giving our residents and visitors the experiences of catering and entertainment. Already open and those who will soon be.
