A new water transport service called Hautes Plaines H2O will provide water to Great Falls, as well as surrounding communities such as Ulm, Cascade, Sun River and many others.
New business: High Plains bulk H2O and drinking water delivery drivers
“(I) would go down and put 8,000 gallons in a trailer and take it home, and we would irrigate the yard with it, and then every time I would go down there would be people filling up here, and they would ask me to about water transportation, and then I was like, “hmm, that’s probably something I should look into,” you know? And then it just took off from there,” said Kenny Sikes, owner of High Plains H2O.
High Plains H2O is a family owned and operated business. Not only have they always called central Montana home, but they have also been in the trucking industry for several years.
“We have been self-employed in the trucking and service industry for 36 years. So it kind of fell into place because I already had the equipment down to the trucks, (and) I already had the tractors to pull the trailer, you know, so I had all the heavy equipment, I just had to buy the tanks,” Sikes said.
They offer bulk drinking water with digital metering for cisterns, storage tanks and spas.
Sikes said he looks forward to providing this service to his community that he has been a part of for more than 20 years.
“Just helping people, keeping them full of water, you know, so they don’t have to worry about not getting their water on time,” Sikes said.
