Humphrey, known for his expertise in technological education, will present “until the death you tweet”, a session designed to provide parents with essential knowledge on popular social media platforms and the risks associated with them.
“I have a group of parents who advise me on communication stuff in the district, we meet once a month, and we try to find what we can do to get parents out, make them more committed or find better ways for us to communicate as a district,” said Gabriel Phillips, strategic communication agent for the colonial. “One of the things we are talking about forever has been to make an event like this.”
The district has made security and security and other events that interest parents and families, but with the importance of social media, a seminar like this is also necessary.
Participants will gain practical tools and resources to start important conversations with their children on responsible online behavior.
The event will cover subjects ranging from online security to digital citizenship, offering usable advice that can help parents protect their children in an increasingly connected world.
This is an excellent opportunity for parents to be informed, ask questions and feel more confident by discussing the digital world with their children.
The district made Humphrey speak before, but it was pre-countryic, so colonial tried to recover it and really started to organize this event since winter.
“We know that like parents, we sometimes need a different voice, and Steph has already spoken, she is a known speaker on a national scale, and it’s just to give parents advice, like when your children are on social networks, what are you not knowing? Or what do you know? ” Said Phillips. “She is an industry expert, then listen to her.”
There will be about a question session of half an hour after the presentation of Humphrey.
“And if we lack time, we can install times when parents can ask questions or get links with places where they can get answers,” said Phillips.
He encourages people to come to the event and said that he hoped that the district will host more of these events.
“I know, as a parent, I have a ton of questions about different things, because I have a fifth year student and a student of eighth, and I am probably plus that the usual parent with social media, but I still have a lot of questions,” said Phillips. “This is certainly something that parents can use.”
