A defender of patients of the alleged neurological disease of the mystery of New Brunswick said that the Minister of Health of the province was not honest with her.
Stacey Quigley Cormier became a defender after the condition of her daughter-in-law Gabrielle continued to decline years after being diagnosed by a doctor with a mystery neurological disease.
“She sleeps approximately 16 hours a day, she still uses the wheelchair if necessary and cane all the time,” said Quigley Cormier about Gabrielle.
“We focus on the quality of life.”
The government of the previous PC had closed the disease in February 2022, after dozens of brunswickers reported degenerative neurological symptoms.

The government of Blaine Higgs said that a team of neurologists and other health experts had not found such illnesses.
Quigley Cormier says that she and other patients and defenders were emotional when the first first Susan Holt announced a new scientific review in late 2024.
“We just hoped that we were going to go ahead with the investigation in a impartial way. And it is really sad and exasperating, to be honest, that we learn that this is not the case,” she said.
Moncton’s neurologist, Dr. Allier Marrero, first raised the alarm on the alleged disease, but was dismissed from the Mind Clinic, which treated many patients in the summer of 2022.
Quigley Cormier says that she had a recent meeting with the Minister of Health, Dr. John Dornan, who was CEO of Horizon Health at the time of the dismissal of Marrero.
“I asked him if he had participated in the abolition of Dr. Marrero of the Mind clinic and he said no,” she said.
However, Global News obtained a letter from July 2022 informing Marrero that he was dismissed, who was sung by Dornan.
Cormier Quigley says that she and other defenders want Prime Minister Holt to give the Canada Public Health Agency to supervise the investigation.
“Regarding the letter I had sent to Dr. Marrero, I forgot that I had sent this letter,” said Dornan.
“In terms of curl no, I am the Minister of Health. I am responsible for what is happening in health in this province. ”
