The Division of Planetary Sciences (PSD) of the Directorate of the Mission Science (SMD) updates its community announcement concerning future lunar, planetary and space science conferences which have been published under the number: NNH25ZDA006L as special vision on Sam.Gov.
In November 2024, NASA issued an information request (RFI) NNH25ZDA006L to assess interest in a partnership to organize a conference on lunar, planetary and space science. Based on the response to this RFI, NASA has given an update on progress to a future version of an ad for partnership proposals (AFPP) in February 2025. This email notice is to inform the community that at the time, NASA has decided not to continue an AFPP as described in the RFI and the “questions and answers of the LPSS published on February 10, 2025 (.pdf)”. The planetary science division studies the options for future support for the news workshops led by the community and community -oriented, symposiums and conferences.

June 5, 2025 LPI update:
“To the community of planetary sciences:
For more than five decades, the Lunar and Planetary Science (LPSC) conference has been the first forum for scientific collaboration and discovery, bringing together more than 2,000 planetary scientists and students each year to share research that advances our understanding of the solar system.
NASA has recently announced that it would not ask for proposals for the LPSC 2026 at the moment. Because USRA / LPI recognizes the importance of this conference to the planetary community, we are happy to share our intention to welcome and organize the 57th LPSC next year.
As a long -standing and confidence partner, USRA / LPI remains dedicated to the supply of a program of scientific excellence developed with and for the community.
We can’t wait to share more details later this year. »»
