Astronauts from NASA Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore began a space walk around 7:43 am to eliminate an assembly of radio frequency group of the station farm, collect surface material samples for laboratory analysis of destiny and the quest to see if microorganisms can exist outside the orbital complex and prepare a spare elbow for the Canadarm2 robotic arm.

Williams is a crew 1 member, bearing a suit with red stripes. Wilmore is Spacewalk Crew Member 2, wearing an unmarked costume.
