- For a recent girls trip, I created an itinerary to spend a perfect 48 hours in Las Vegas.
- We have a great hotel on the Las Vegas stripwent to an adults-only pool club and rented cabins.
- Other highlights include Bacchanal Buffet, Liquid Pool Lounge and Vanderpump in Paris.
I have been planning girls’ trips in Las Vegas since I reached legal gambling age about two decades ago.
These epic escapades have taken many forms, including my own wild bachelorette party 15 years ago.
Recently, however, I planned a girls’ trip to celebrate both my birthday and the divorce of one of my best friends (yes, she wore a scarf for the occasion).
Our group has been traveling to Sin City for decades, and now that we’re in our 40s, we have different requirements, including more comfort, better food, and a well-balanced schedule.
On this trip I would say I found exactly the right route for our 48 hours in Las Vegas.
Friday we checked into our hotel on the Strip
When we arrived in Vegas on Friday, we checked right into the ARIA at MGM Resorts. It’s one of my Favorite places to stay on the Strip because it’s centrally located, chic, and loaded with amenities, including a huge pool complex.
We wasted no time going down for a swim and spending the rest of the afternoon in the water with drinks.
As the sun began to set, we went upstairs to shower and get dressed before heading to The cosmopolitanThe Boulevard swimming pool Sunset cocktails and live music.
I love places that offer views of the Strip in the evening when the lights start to come on. (The Skyfall Lounge at the Delano is another great option with a view.)
Then it was time to enjoy a spectacular meal to cap off our first night in town. We went to the lively French-Mediterranean restaurant Cathedralwhich seemed perfect for a special occasion with its beautiful dining room and upscale menu.
Then we called it a night to prepare for the busy Saturday ahead of us.
Our second day of travel was filled with fun and food.
After a good first night’s sleep, we were ready for a busy Saturday schedule.
The main event of the day took place at the Liquid Pool Lounge, a billiard club reserved for adults. We had a cabin with a bottle of vodka and a selection of snacks for the group.
We had a great time drinking and dancing at the pool table all afternoon until about 5 p.m. Then some of us We took a nap to regroup before putting on our party clothes.
Then we hopped in an Uber to the first stop on our itinerary for the night: the immersive, interactive art installation. Las Vegas Fantasy Lab. The tour experience was trippy with lots of fun photo opportunities.
When we left, we were ready to eat at Lisa Vanderpump’s cocktail bar. Vanderpump in Paris.
IWe weren’t offering the kind of indulgent shared dishes we craved, including a cheese-filled birdcage and a truffle-stuffed baguette. By the time we got there it was around 11:30 p.m.
Our group then headed to Encore Beach Club, where Shaquille O’Neal I started a DJ set that started around 1:30 in the morning. After that I went back to the hotel, asleep, even though some of the other girls partied until 5am.
We ended the trip with a great brunch and lots of relaxation
The final day’s agenda was simple and full of food – just what the doctor ordered.
Head to an extravagant Sunday brunch at Caesars Palace. Bacchanal Buffetthe largest buffet in Vegas with hundreds of different dishes. It was truly epic and we had enough food to last us for hours.
After brunch, we were full but took the time for one last highlight: we had booked a poolside cabana at the Caesars Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis, where we could cool off and enjoy the pool poker bar on the main level.
Finally, a few hours before our flight, we threw blankets over our swimsuits, collected the bags we’d checked in with the bellman, and headed straight to the airport.
