Las Vegas, nev. (Fox5) – As you get older, you can realize that you want to do much more with your life than you have had the chance to do it.
If you still thought it was too late to follow your dreams, think again. This is the message we have received from a mother from the Las Vegas valley who graduated from the UNLV and now has their eyes on the school of medicine.
Fox5 met Krista Whitley, 45, at home where she showed us all her textbooks.
Whitley told us that she had started with the basics of her science diploma, obtaining manuals such as “Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 for Dummies”.
It was a diploma that the mother of two and the retirement in retirement never saw coming.
“One night at the dinner table, my teenage son said to me:” So you will serve us dinner for the rest of your life? ” And I immediately, in a way that only a teenager can call you, I felt that I had to do more with my life, “said Whitley.
That night, she applied to CSN where she was accepted immediately.
After graduating as a partner in CSN, Whitley applied to the UNLV.
“Things that seemed frightening when I was 18 or 19 years old, such as calculation, in the forties, I just felt like I was opportunities for me to stretch my brain in different ways,” said Whitley.
Whitley has taken as many credits as she could and took everything, from mathematics to organic chemistry, she even urged summer lessons.
“I hated solving for” X “the only” X “I wanted to talk about was my ex-friendly friend or the ex-Ex. I was not interested in solving for “X”, “said Whitley joking about his math lessons.
However, Whitley quickly learned that education was not the way she remembered it was.
“I wore all my books and binders because I thought that was what all the students did. No one does that. They really bring their laptops,” said Whitley.
Whitley said the house and assignments were a family affair. As she juggled as a mother of two high school students, they all discussed their lessons at the dinner table.
“I found that our whole family had become very focused on homework. Duties have become family competence,” said Whitley.
During Whitley’s time at the UNLV, she also researched the UMC emergencies, which motivated her to continue her medical studies. But first, Whitley must take his Nyu online mastery lesson.
However, she recognizes that she will be in the fifties when she has finished with the medical school.
“The moment will pass anyway. If these years will spend and I will be in the hundred, I want to focus on what I like,” said Whitley.
Whitley said she hoped to attend a medical school in Las Vegas and finally become a doctor here to help fill the gap with regard to the career of doctor.
When asked if she had regrets not to do it 20 years ago, she said: “I would have been a terrible student in 1998. I would have been there for the holidays. No way, I would have been a student in science. ”
