The Mississippi state fair is one of Jackson’s most anticipated annual events, bringing pig races, circus acts, rides and food sellers to the capital each year.
This year marks the 166th Mississippi State Fair. The Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson announced the details of this year’s fair at a press conference Thursday, June 5.
“We have implemented a high -level entertainment program this year, as well as all the classic rides and attractions that Fairgoers know and love,” said Gipson. “But, we also have several new events that we are delighted to present.”
When is the Mississippi 2025 state fair?
The Mississippi 2025 state fair will take place on Thursday October 2 to Monday October 13 at the State Fairgroups in Jackson.
What can I expect?
Visitors can expect fair classics and some new surprises.
The fair will include more than 70 carnival walks and more than 100 food sellers, including favorites such as the cookie stand. Fairgoers can also expect the usual attractions: livestock shows the taste of the Dixie National Rodeo, State Fair Market Expo, Tri-State Rodeo, The Zerbini Family Circus, Zoo and Pork races.
For the first time, national competitions Miss Rodeo Mississippi and Miss Dixie will take place during the Fair on Sunday October 5. The events will be open to the public and will take place in various places in the fair.
A new Motocross X Riders event will take place on Saturday October 11 and features runners performing freestyle tips on motorcycle bikes. Tickets will be available closer to the event and include general admission to the Fair.
This year, the convivial day of disability, a day designed for individuals and families affected by disabilities. The convivial day of disabilities, which will take place on Tuesday October 7, will include sensory tents for silent breaks, state favorites, adapted to increased accessibility and a resource carnival. Admission that day is free for people with disabilities with prior registration.
Who is playing Mississippi State Fair this year?
Each year, the Mississippi state fair brings an impressive range of musical guests to the Mississippi Coliseum. Local and well -known stars, including Shawn Mendes, have taken the scene in recent years.
You will find below the concert program for this year so far:
- Montell Jordan and All-4-One: 7 p.m., Thursday October 2
- Cory Asbury: 2 p.m., Sunday October 5
- Maddie and Tae with Tayler Holder: 7 p.m., Thursday, October 9
All concerts take place at the Mississippi Coliseum.
Tickets for each concert are available now via Ticketing and the Mississippi Fair website. Admission to the Fair is included with the purchase of a concert ticket.
How can I buy tickets for the Mississippi 2025 state fair?
Tickets cost $ 8 if they are purchased in advance via the Mississippi Fair website. After Thursday, October 2, tickets will be $ 10 each online and at the door.
Parking is free on the fair of the fair.
