(CNN) – Miley Cyrus seems fairly committed in his signature sound.
During An interview recently published with Zane Lowe from Apple MusicCyrus spoke of having Reinke edema. According to the Cleveland clinicThe condition is “a non -cancerous disorder of the vocal cord” of which “the characteristic symptoms are a significantly deeper hoad and a voice”.
Cyrus told Zane that she describes him as “the abuse of vocal cords”.
“Being 21 years old and standing and drinking and smoking and partying after each program does not help,” she said about her start of career. “But also in my case, that does not cause it. So my voice always sounded like that – it’s part of my unique anatomy.”
The 32 -year -old “Flowers” singer does not want to treat him, however, for fear that this will change her distinctive sound.
“I have this large polyp on my cords, and I am not willing to break it, because the possibility of waking up from an operation and not to look like me is a probability,” she said.
It can be difficult, said Cyrus. She compared performance with the vocal polyp to “run a marathon with weights on the ankle”.
It also means that tours can be a challenge.
“I do not synchronize the lips. I sing live, and these songs are large,” she said. “I don’t write little songs.”
