- Critical planeic systems for NASA’s housing module for astronauts (called halo) are under development, products and assembled in Vienna, Austria, by Tttech and beyond the gravity of the Austria.
- The Halo module is manufactured in Italy and will be delivered to the United States in February. This is an important step for the bridge and the NASA Artemis program.
- Tttech and beyond Gravity Austria provide a modular product platform which offers a critical data network tolerant to breakdowns and a computer platform.
The halo of the NASA module (outpost of housing and logistics) will soon start its trip from Thales Alenia Space to Italy in Northrop Grumman in the United States. The European Space Agency (ESA) and Thales Alenia Space will organize a media event on February 20, 2025 from 11:00 am (CET) in Thales Alenia Space in Turin to celebrate the Dispatch. Delivery marks an important step in the NASA “Artemis” program and the development of Gateway, the first human outpost in lunar orbit. NASA Artemis aims to allow the landing of the first woman and the first person of color on the Moon, as well as spatial exploration in Mars.
The Halo Gateway module, for which Northrop Grumman is responsible, will be an outpost of the home and logistics offering temporary housing for astronauts en route to the moon. It will provide vital installations such as survival and storage systems, as well as communication and mooring capacities.
Austria’s technology plays an important role in Gateway says that Christian Fidi of Tttech and Kuber of Beyond Gravity Austria: “We are delighted with this step in the Halo program and look forward to the next steps. Our equipment, which is, among other things, responsible for controlling critical security functions for the entire Halo module, will be delivered to the United States in the coming months and integrated into Halo in Arizona. »»
Tttech and Beyond Gravity Austria provide the Ttethernet network and computer platforms for Halo, but also for its “Lunar I-Hab” sister module provided by ESA, which will be built by Thales Alenia Space. Ttethernet allows real -time communication and the transmission of critical and non -critical messages on the same network. The material required for the lunar gateway is designed and manufactured in Vienna. The modular product platform offers a tolerant critical data network with breakdowns and a computer platform.
“Austria’s technology plays an important role in today’s human space flight. This shows the importance of Austrian spatial technology in a global context, “explains Christian Fidi, Managing Director, Tttech Aerospace,” we are, with Thales Alenia Space and Airbus, the third major partner of the United States for the first two modules of gateway. “”
„Austrian technology allows astronauts secure communication on the space station. Astronauts several thousand kilometers from the earth must be able to rely on solutions that offer maximum security. Tttech and beyond gravity can provide this very reliable data network platform for space, “said Kurt Kuber, managing director of Beyond Gravity Austria and Vice-President Electronic Solutions at Beyond Gravity.
