Dr. Michael Weld was appointed Associate Director for Nursing, Associate Director of Patient Services in Mach 2025.
Before coming to Augusta, he was assigned to the health care system VA Loma Linda as an associate deputy director for patient care services from 04/25/2021. He oversees 7 nursing services, including ambulatory care, CLC / GEC, intensive care, flow / operations, medicine, mental health and surgery.
Dr. Weld obtained the doctorate in practice nursing from Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in 2018. His master’s degree in nursing systems and organizational leadership (2016) and the Baccalaureate ès Sciences, nursing diplomas (2011) also come from the OHSU. His first nursing diploma was a partner of the applied sciences, nurses of the Rogue Community College (Go Ospreys!) In 2010. Dr Weld was certified by the board of directors of nursing authorized in psychiatric mental health by the ANCC.
Before arriving at VA Loma Linda, Dr. Weld was detailed as associate chief of mental health at the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) from July 2020-April 2021. Rehabilitation and clinical center in White City Oregon (VA Sorcc). VA Sorcc is the largest MH / South residential treatment program in the country, with up to 525 beds during Dr Weld’s mandate. He has previous experience as program director for community residential MH treatment facilities in Oregon, in addition to positions as a military behavioral case manager at FT Hood Texas and in community mental health crisis programs. Dr. Weld has a vast management and leadership experience in several areas, including production / manufacturing, business and health care. He has more than 20 years of experience in Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Dr. Weld is a veteran of the US Navy submarines service.
