Mercyone launches the black maternal health campaign on public transport

Mercyone announces a maternal health campaign with the regional transit authority in the monks region. The bus service serves as a mobile display panel, creatively connecting women to the essential pregnancy services. Several of the buses and shelters of specialized darts are located along the roads specifically identified in the city of monks, areas where there are a more concentrated number of under-represented individuals, including on the north, east and southern sides -St of the city. “We have made a discussion group and asked us the women what are some of the obstacles,” said Mercyone de la Santé Jacity Jacquie Easley McGee. “They shared with American transport an obstacle targeting certain specific postal codes in the community.” The disproportionality of the maternal health crisis affects black women and their babies. According to the CDC, black women are three times more likely to die of a cause of pregnancy than white women. They are also more likely to feel a mortitance, the loss of a baby after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Health care experts say that this maternal health campaign is intended to help educate women in the most vulnerable areas of the city, it is also to ensure that women of colored will be heard by their doctors. Mercyone was the first hospital group in the country to receive training respectful in maternity care of the association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal nurses. “Bringing this education to our team allowed them to acquire knowledge and help them take care of families with unique cultural history,” said Maria Nelson, director of women and children services in Mercyone.
