“The finance professional has become a technological entrepreneur, motivated by the family, the passion for football and the global prospects.”

Hometown: Recife, Brazil (born)

Funny about yourself: I speak five languages, I hold three passports and I work on a fourth (Italian).

First cycle and major school: Brigham Young University – Business Management with a concentration in finance and marketing

The most recent employer and title: InvestPro – Founder and CEO of a Fintech startup supported by a company creating solutions for wealth managers.

What makes New York an ideal place to win an MBA? New York and CBS form the link of finance, technology and innovation, making it an ideal place to learn, network and be at the forefront of the future of finance.

Aside from your classmates and location, What was the key part of the Curriculum MBA programming of the Columbia Business School that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important for you? The World Family Business Program. My wife’s family manages a global shrimp and export company where continuity is the key. The information of this program and the Family Business Club will help me propel our family business to exponential and transgenerational growth. The program includes classes such as the management of family businesses and conflict management in the family business.

What course, club or activity excites you most at Columbia Business School? I am particularly inspired by Professor Wright’s strategy class, analyzing how companies like Walmart, Apple and Samsung build and support their competitive advantage. I also appreciate the opening of my classmates by recognizing their forces and actively pulling CBS class resources and classmates to rely on them. The Columbia environment promotes the development and collaboration of skills. I am also a vice-president of the finance of the technology club, which is one of the most important and active clubs in Columbia who support students of the industry expertise in career placement and events.

Looking at your recruitment, what was the moment when you realized that the Columbia Business School was the right program for you? For what? After talking with 10 students or former CBS, I felt a strong alignment with the culture and community of CBS.

Describe your greatest achievement in your career so far: Balance requests for preparation for admission tests at MBA while managing two companies with a team of 50 people, a newborn and a two-year-old girl.

What would you hope to do after obtaining the diploma? I aim to take advantage of my financial, operational and technological skills in a large financial company, applying my entrepreneurial experience to have a wider impact.

What advice would you give to help potential candidates be admitted to the MBA program of Columbia Business School?

1 – Define where you want to go and how CBS can help you unique.

2 – Think about how you will contribute beyond being just a student, which has done something separate to the CBS community.
