While most children learned their ABC, Andreas Doemer learned of his knights.
The Saint John chess phenomenon, NB has already rejected competition, both in New Brunswick and across the country.
“It is not a question of attacking. You must also play positionally sometimes, which is essentially surpassed your opponent, as having it essentially and of course the tactics,” said the 11 -year -old man.

Doemer obtained his place on Team Canada after having placed himself first in the country last year. Now he is part of a dozen children under 12 abroad for a competition, and the only one in eastern Ontario.
Doemer started playing only four years old and was presented to the game by his father, Johannes, who also learned from his father.
“At that time, even by understanding the rules of chess, I find that it is something, and he not only seized the rules like this, he seized the strategy and it was very visible,” said Johannes.
