Good morning! My name is Shreyansh Goyal and I am currently continuing my master’s degree in information systems at the School of Information Studies (ischool) from the University of Syracuse. I obtained my undergraduate diploma in computer science and I wanted my next step to link the worlds of technology and management. Ischool was the perfect choice, offering a unique mixture of the two areas with the flexibility necessary to orient my career towards business, technology and innovation.
The transition to life in Syracuse was incredibly soft and welcoming. From the start, I was able to participate in Winding Breeze events organized by Syracuse student groups, such as the International Student Organization (ISO). These events helped me feel at home, meet other students and start building a network from the start.
I joined Iconsult collaborative, a student consulting group, where I worked on a customer project aimed at developing a website using the Wix platform. This practical experience was invaluable: she gave me a first overview of the application of technical skills in a real environment and collaboration with a team to meet the needs of customers. Shortly after, I was also selected to work at the Nexis Student Technology Labs, which has been a fantastic journey so far. As a data science researcher within the Data Science team, I am currently participating in two data -based information projects, bringing me in -depth experience of data analysis and their impact on the decision -making.
Beyond studies and work, I was also selected as an ambassador of higher cycles admission, a role that will allow me to guide new students in their transition to Syracuse. Being able to help others take their first steps in ischool will be rewarding and this should strengthen my own link with the university.
For the future, I focus on the courses and experiences that will prepare me for a career in financial analysis. My long -term goal is to report these skills in India, where I hope to create my own business and also contribute to my family’s business. I can’t wait to see how I can apply what I learn in Syracuse to the real world challenges at home.
Ischool responded to everything I hoped and even more, by offering both technical rigor and professional development opportunities. I can’t wait to continue this trip, to learn as much as possible and, I hope, to inspire others along the way!
