For 30 days, Canadians found themselves largely without mail delivery while Canada Post workers reached the picket line.
But now that Canada Post is back delivering, so are porch thieves and mailbox thieves.
In Saskatoon, several mailboxes in the west of the city have been the target of break-ins in recent days.
“We can confirm that there have been recent incidents of vandalism at community mailboxes in the west Saskatoon area,” Canada Post said in a statement. “We are working to repair the affected parcel compartments as quickly as possible in the coming days. In the meantime, mail from affected customers is being held securely.

When Saskatoon resident Mike Vermette heard about the thefts, he went to check his mail and found scratches on the box.
“It worries me a little bit,” Vermette said. “I came once a week; now I arrive earlier even though I don’t expect much in the mail.
“It’s always about not knowing what you missed.”
Canada Post has stated that it is best to collect your mail daily if possible.
“If you plan to be away, use Canada Post’s hold mail service to suspend delivery until you return,” the statement said.
It also recommends tracking your items online or changing your shipping preferences.
Saskatoon police say they haven’t received any recent reports, but say these crimes are not uncommon and tend to go unreported.
“I am aware of these concerns and we are actively looking into these things and will conduct a thorough investigation to see what we can do to identify the offenders and put a stop to this,” said Saskatoon Police Chief Cameron McBride.
