It is not a secret the Magic I haven’t always hit their long -range shots this season.
Through 60 games, Orlando still holds the percentage of 3 lowest points in the league (30.4%) and pulled below 30% in 32 competitions.
But it is not for a lack of effort.
Entering Thursday games against the WarriorsMagic has generated the ninth attempts the widest of 3 points this season (1,157) NBA.com. An overview of the distance is considered to be “open” when the nearest defender is over 6 feet.
While some of these attempts have come from opposing teams who leave Orlando Open on purpose, others came from games designed or when players such as Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner take advantage of double teams by swinging the ball at a opening shooter.
Although they are in the top 10 “wide” 3 -point tests, magic is the last when they convert these blows (32.3%).
Even on the attempts of 3 points which are considered to be “open” (the defender is more than 4 feet distance), the magic is linked to the last with Toronto as a shooting percentage (30.2%).
Naturally, he is required to take a hit on their mental psyche.
But coach Jamahl Mosley wants Orlando to continue to put the work from the range of 3 points, whether they do or miss or miss.
“When it comes to everything that may not go well-and in this case, it is the shooting-you must be able to trust your process, to trust your work, (and) to trust what you know you did,” he said on Thursday morning. “And then you have to look at, maybe a few protruding facts to watch this basketball cross the hole and know what you are able to do.
“These guys continue to work,” he added. “No guy has taken a day off when it comes to being able to get their work, watch the film, to study it, to know how good you are and how the teams will play and save it.”
McClung called
Magic Magic Guard Mac McClung was made available for the first time since mid-December Thursday morning before the Orlando match with Golden State.
Eligible to play up to 50 games on a two -lane agreement, McClung was only active for five times for magic while passing the majority of the season in League G with Osceola.
Although he only appeared in an NBA match this season – played 5 minutes against the grizzly ones on October 26 – McClung does not try any opportunity for acquired.
“At the end of the day, I play basketball on an NBA list,” he said during Thursday morning shot. “Gratitude is always the key to me. I am really big on the timing of God. When it is supposed to do it, it will work. I know who I am.
“I try to withdraw and get won and try to contribute in any way possible,” he added.
Under the coach Dylan MurphyMcClung has an average of 24.3 points, 5.9 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 32.8 minutes in 17 games with Osceola.
He recently became the first player in the history of the League Win three consecutive dunk competitions at the NBA All-Star Weekend. But McClung thinks it is more than a simple dunk specialist.
“Mac is just a pro,” said Mosley. “The way he tackles the game, the way he tackles his work, the way he addresses everything … he’s just a real professional.
“It is so important that what he did in the G, be able to facilitate, to be able to play game games, to be able to mark if necessary, to be able to involve his teammates,” added Mosley. “All these things he could do there, if he has an opportunity, it will be the same thing that we ask him here.”
