Search for singers and secondary musicians to apply on the deadline of June 1st
This summer, the Temple of Fame of Music and Entertainment of Long Island (Limehof) will host its first camp of star groups for high school students (9th to the 12th year). The one -week program will take place from July 28 to August 1 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day and will end with a final concert on Sunday August 3 at 3 p.m.
The unique aspect of this group camp is that it will be the first to be held at the Limehof museum at 97, rue Main in Stony Brook. The students will explore and discover the great artists who were inducted in Limehof – from the blue worship Öyster and Mariah Carey to Billy Joel and Twisted Sister.
“As part of Limehof’s commitment to education, we are delighted to offer students the opportunity to play songs by our enthusiasts estimated in the unique framework of the museum,” said Limehof vice-president, Tom Needham, who manages Limehof’s educational programs. “The All-Star Band camp is a unique experience that links young musicians to the rich musical heritage of Long Island.”
The program will be trained by Limehof Long Island Sound Award Jack Licitra (Bayport) of South Bay Arts and its staff, all of which have a large experience in the management of youth programs. Jack Licitra has been leading groups of young people since 2008. He has developed an effective approach that highlights talent and prepares children with live performance intensity.
“Limehof inspires the next generation of Li musicians and it is a big step towards the culture of this talent to create a flourishing musical scene,” said Licitra.
This intensive experience will encourage students to play for two and a day per day for 5 days of rehearsals and a concert performance of the 6th day in the long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame. This program was designed to allow students to have a team consolidation team and professional musical experience. All singers, drummers, guitarists, bass and keyboardists of the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Kings (Brooklyn) are invited to apply before the deadline of June 1. The arrangements will be created specifically for the registered whole and their skills. The cost of participation is $ 350.
