BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Downtown Bryan hosted the first First Friday of 2025, inviting residents to shop and attend performances by local artists.
Now that First Friday is over, local business owners said they are feeling optimistic about the year ahead.
Whether it’s making handmade soaps, baking sweet treats, or freeze-drying treats, many members of the small business community are heading into the new year with a positive outlook on what lies ahead.
“I think everything is going to be beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,” remarked Ruth Paul, owner of MaGra’s Kitchen.
“And I feel good as we approach 2025, I think there are so many changes on the horizon. I expect a better year this year than 2024,” Astrobites owner Matthew Hawkins said in response.
Hawkin’s sentiment was shared by Louella LeBlanc, owner of Triple L Glamor Goat Company.
She noted that despite a slower 2024, she expects things to rebound in 2025.
“Last year was a little tough for a lot of people, and a lot of businesses closed their doors, but I hope things continue to, you know, move forward and we see things start to grow.” , added LeBlanc.
That first Friday marked LeBlanc’s first as a salesman. She said she’s preparing to do more this year.
