WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) – Crosstown company Julie Brown has solved the age-old problem of how kids can buy gifts for their parents and have a surprise for them.
For 5 years now, Crosstown Julie Brown has made it so people can bring their kids into the store, ask the parents out, and pair the kids with an assistant to choose their parents’ gift from the store’s wide selection of items .
After their purchase, they head to the back of the store where they wrap their gifts and are ready to be placed under the tree. Co-owner Matt Lichtenauer says every year they see more and more kids.
“Children can only keep their secrets for so long. So we think the closer Christmas gets, the more they’ll only have to keep the secret for a few days, because every year parents find out they don’t really know what they’re going to get until Christmas morning,” says Matt Lichtenauer .
The owners say this event is a lot of fun every year and they hope the kids had a great time.
