LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The owners of a Little Rock restaurant said they were in disbelief after two people broke into their business early Monday morning.
Kreg and Samantha Stewart are co-owners of Little Rock’s Certified Pies and said they were shocked when surveillance footage captured two people breaking in around 4 a.m.
“The initial reaction, I would say, was hurt more than anything. The Stewarts said, “They took our records and were able to get our safe.” »

Samantha said they were capable of stealing a lot of money.
“I would say at least a thousand dollars just on equipment and that doesn’t include repairs,” she said.
Kreg said they opened the restaurant in 2020 and had success, but said the break-in left them with an unsettling feeling.
“We love Little Rock, we love our community,” Stewart said. “Anyone who knows us would give us the shirt off our backs. It’s a disturbing feeling.

They plan to speak with their security company and work with the Little Rock Police Department to get answers.
“I really think we’re going to press charges, we want to know who did this to us,” Samantha said.
They said they received support from their neighboring business Fuller and Son Hardware, who helped them put wood on their front door which was broken. They have also received an outpouring of support online that they say is helping them move forward despite the defeat.
“We built this business for the community,” the Stewarts said. “It lets us know we’re on the right path to greatness and that’s what we’re trying to do here.”

Although there are no suspects, LRPD officials said the investigation is ongoing.
The Stewarts said they plan to reopen Tuesday, but will only accept cashless payments.
