Bellingham, wa (Mybellinghamnow.com) – Spring is there. Technically. Time heats up a bit in the county of WhatCom and the glorious sunny time is fast approaching. Hopefully.

This means it’s time to get in shape. How does a beautiful sound Everson go?

Honeywagon runs the kicks on Saturday March 22 with Bib Ricker at 7:30 am at the Nuoksack Valley Middle School. You can follow a four-thousand or a half-marathon course while admiring the magnificent view of the county of Western Whatcom, the Fothills and the Nooksack river.

Honeywagon Runs started in 1982 and has been taking place every year since then, except for 2020, when the cocovio pandemic forced a cancellation. The course takes you along the country roads which will not be closed to traffic, so dress accordingly and use caution.

For all the details and to register, go to Greater Bellingham Running Club website.

If kayaking is more your style, you are lucky. Rob Casey will be in Village Books in Fairhaven on Saturday to talk about his book Pandes the Salish Sea: 80 trips to Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, the Olympic Peninsula and South British Columbia.

The title says everything.

There are tons of options for kayaking in the Salish Sea, but it is important to be prepared and well trained to securely enjoy conditions. Photo by Adam Smith.

Casey will discuss the updates to his book and compare more recent trips and older trips he has made over the years. Whatever your level of skill in kayak, this book will provide you with the know-how to go out in the water safely and enjoy the beauty of the North West of the Pacific.

Go to Villageois.com For all the details.

If you need good laughter, look no further than the taphouse corner in Bellingham.

The actor of Standup, Sam Miller, will be in town on Friday March 21, presenting his hilarious stories of time spent in a prison in Yakima, his trip through eleven years of sobriety, marriage, paternity and all the rest of life. (Includes adult content).
