Winter Haven, Florida. – Legoland Florida is rebuilding its workforce with 234 permanent layoffs looming. The entertainment department accounts for about 75% of these layoffs.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice (WARN) sent Friday by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, layoffs are expected to begin March 25 and will continue through April 7.
The notice specifies that among the 234 employees laid off, none are represented by a union.
“At LEGOLAND Florida Resort, we are making operational changes to help us improve the guest experience in 2025 and beyond. This includes changes to the way we provide entertainment,” a Legoland representative said in a statement. “The decision to reduce the size of some of our teams may have been difficult, but these changes will allow the Resort to operate more flexibly and responsively in a competitive market. »
