Lafayette, Louisiana (KLFY) – A small business in Lafayette calls a thief who, according to them, has repeatedly targeted the store. The suspect would have done for nearly $ 500 in goods.
The surveillance video shows the suspect who goes with a case of lighters.
“Each time, he does the same thing,” said Amber Schooley cashier.
“I want him to know that we know and we are monitoring it,” added General Director Julie Fontenot.
Employees of the One Congress stop saying that the suspect enters and requests employment papers.
“So, the second you walk to get the papers and turn your back on it, it will simply snatch one of these things and run,” said Schooley, holding a case of fifty lighters. “Then he will take out his bike and pedal.”
The employees say he has done this same tactic four times since January 7. Each time, they say that the suspect targets an employee without different mistrust.
“I think he checks the window to see who works, so he knows if he has already done them,” Scholey told News 10.
Fontenot says that even a few cases of lighters are a great success in profits and affect a small business and their employees.
“As a small business and local and managed business, I have the impression that it has an impact on us because we do not have this freedom that the margins are so important where they can take something , and it’s not so serious. We are small and each loss is a loss, ”said Fontenot.
It warns other companies to be on the lookout.
“We are all watching from all our stores and reports were made to the police. The police are looking for it, ”she added.
