True to the title of his new podcast, Kylie Kelce continues to prove that she is I’m not going to lie. Kelce, wife of retired Philadelphia Eagles star turned ESPN personality Jason Kelcesister-in-law of current Kansas City Chiefs star and Taylor Swift boyfriend Travis Kelcemade waves during the first episode of his new show struck The Joe Rogan Experience out of the top spot in the podcast rankings that it had held for a long time.
In a interview with the New York Times released on Thursday, his first since the podcast premiered earlier this month, Kelce admitted that the annoyance over his success with Rogan’s fans hasn’t gone unnoticed. “It motivates me,” she said, although she insisted, “I don’t care about the rankings.” Another big reveal: his political views “lean aggressively” to the left, and his dream podcast guest is none other than the former first lady. Michelle Obama, which came up while discussing whether Kelce would consider interviewing politicians on the show. “I know she’s not running personally,” she said of Obama. “But I would love it if she did.” She also mentioned that she was a fan of Governor Josh Shapirofrom her home state of Pennsylvania for stocking public school bathrooms with free menstrual products.
Now pregnant with her fourth daughter with Jason, Kylie isn’t the only podcast host in their household. Jason co-hosts the popular New heights with her brother Travis, but Kylie has differentiated her show not only through content, focusing more on “mommy stuff,” in her words, and sports topics that appeal more to casual fans and aficionados of women’s sports , but also by length. She pledged to limit episodes to 45 minutes or less, “prioritizing busy women’s timelines.”
“I’m focused on putting out content that people love to consume,” she said of her rapid success, and suggested another potential source of her appeal: “Maybe it’s the promise that ‘we won’t lie to you.’
And, unsurprisingly for a woman who is about to welcome her fourth child, she’s equally realistic about the idea that her ideas might piss people off.
“I say that in the most respectful way,” she said. “I don’t care what anyone else has to say.”
