Jaden Schwartz scored twice, the lines of Jani Nyman and Matty Beners marked 16 seconds apart and Joey Daccord made 36 stops to help the Seattle Kraken to beat the Edmonton Oilers 6-1 Thursday evening and take a slippage of three games.
“I thought the first period was fine, it was not our best,” said head coach Kris Knoblauch after the match.
“Playing consecutive against a team that was a little fresher; they will have more jumps, more legs. We survived the first period, I think it was going. But in the second period, it starts in the first quarter of work. Crown the puck on a few times, we are forced to undergo a penalty, then they marked on it, then we are simply in shock after that.”
Andre Burakovsky and Jared McCann also had goals for Kraken, who scored five times in the second period.
Zach Hyman had the sole goal of Edmonton. Calvin Pickard, who played 11:07 the previous night in relief of Stuart Skinner, made 24 stops. Olivier Rodrigue took over in the third period and stopped seven shots.
Edmonton Stars Connor McDavid (lower body injury) and Leon Draisaitl (not disclosed) sat for the third consecutive match.
