Post Falls, Idaho-The Kootenai Multicare Health Health and Health System is pleased to announce the development of a new Multi-Phases Medical Campus of 30 Acres at Post Falls at the south-eastern corner of the 41 highway and avenue Prairie. The new location, named Prairie Medical Campus, represents one of the largest recent medical investments in northern Idaho. It will help guarantee access to health care while the region continues to grow, based on the solid bases of existing campuses of Kootenai Health and our continuous commitment to extend high quality care throughout the community.
The first phase will include a micro-hospital with emergency service, imaging services and rooms for stays for one night patients. It will also include a large, several -story medical office building which will initially house a new ambulatory surgery center, clinical offices, laboratory services, etc.
The micro-hospital will include an emergency service of 12 pieces with certified medical medicine. A number of rooms will be able to accommodate patients who need hospital care overnight. It also houses an advanced imaging center with advanced equipment, including MRI, CT scanners, ultrasonic machines and X -ray machines.
The medical office building will include a space for new and enlarged medical practices that will include both the Kootenai clinic and independent doctors. It will help attract new necessary primary care providers, medical and surgical specialists in the region. It will provide a necessary space for many practices to develop and should become a destination for patients to receive care from various suppliers.
The development of phase 1 should start in 2025, with a scheduled calendar from 24 to 36 months to complete the projects in this phase. Parkwood commercial propertiesA commercial real estate company based north of Idaho, will work alongside Kootenai Health and Multicare Health System as a development partner.
The Prairie medical campus has a space to accommodate the future phases, in particular the planned development of a hospital expanded to full service, while the population of the region continues to grow.
The population of the County of Kootenai and the County of East of Spokane should double over the next 20 years. This rapid growth has accelerated the need for more complete and quality medical care in Post Falls, Hayden, Rathdrum, Liberty Lake and the surrounding regions.
“The Prairi Prairie medical campus is a transformational investment in the future of health care in our region,” said Jamie Smith, CEO of Kootenai Health. “It is our mission to serve this growing part of our community. We are delighted to associate with Multicare; Working together allows us to rely on the forces of the two organizations for the benefit of our patients. This allows us to create something bigger, faster and better in the post Falls to Liberty Lake corridor than we can alone. »»
It is a joint venture, not a merger or an acquisition. While working in collaboration, Kootenai Health and Multicare Health System will remain independent, non -profit and community health care providers. Kootenai Health will retain operational control as director of the Prairie medical campus as well as the primary brand image. This will continue their long history of high quality care and dedication to health in northern Idaho.
Kootenai Health and Multicare have work history with other health care organizations, hospitals and doctors to achieve objectives to improve and extend health care in the communities they serve.
The medical campus will be the last collaboration between Kootenai Health and Multicare. In 2020, Kootenai Health joined Multicare on the implementation of the epic electronic health file.
