A satellite location of the Goodland brewery comes out of the city orbit.
The Kickred Brewing Kickred Satellite Chamber at 1626 Ownby Lane Farm this weekend.
His last day will take place on May 18 A year after its opening As a branch on the theme of the space of the original location of Kickred Spirit in the West stream of Goodland.
John Barefoot, who is a co -owner of the Kodited spirit with his wife, Heather, and Joe Trottier and Merryl Gutierrez, said Satellite was fine, but that the management of two locations stretched them thin.
“We were preparing in both places, we were in staff for both places and reserve bands for both places. We found ourselves working far too much,” said John Barefoot. “The juice was not worth the pressure.”
Kickred Spirit will continue to operate in West Creek as usual.
John Barefoot said that the opportunity to open satellite occurred through an existing relationship with the owner of the Ownby Lane Building, the Crenshaw-Singleton Properties downtown, who also owns Goodland Building’s Goodland. This familiarity also made it easier to close this week.
“We had an agreement to run there. They were pleasant to let us go out with a flexible rental agreement,” said John Barefoot.
The opportunity to take control of the 5,600 square feet clean space came at the end of 2023 when Castleburg Brewery and Taproom closed after eight years in business. The space is flanked by two other nearby breweries: the original location of the Hardywood Park craft brasserie at 2410 Ownby Lane and the main brasserie at 1603 Ownby Lane.
The closure of the satellite arrives at a time of unsubscribe for the Local craft beer industry in the past year or two. More local breweries closed its doors last year that during the year since the start of industry boom in the 2010s. Last week, any time by Beer Co., formerly Tabol Brewing, closed in Northside, although its owners say they are Planning to find a new location.
John Barefoot said Kindred Spirit is doing well, in particular thanks to the distribution. Brewery beer is shipped throughout the state and in certain parts of North Carolina, a line of barefoot credits on the relatively early arrival of Spirit on the stage in 2016.
“Being one of the previous people on the market has certainly helped. This allowed us to obtain distribution rights through certain key distributors, when it would be difficult to end up with a distributor (now) because they are so full of brands,” he said.
Faced with satellite is a major construction site, because the apartment communities of Tennessee-Developer America are Build a five -story complex and more than 300 units At the corner of Hermitage and Ownby.
