Kate Winslet had a bold monochromatic moment at the Golden Globes 2025.
The 49-year-old actress walked the red carpet in a white Erdem suit. The ensemble included fitted pants and an embellished blazer under which she went topless.
As Harper’s Bazaar underlines, the black sequined floral designs on her jacket could have passed as a spot of sparkle on the otherwise understated monochrome look – or a nod to Winslet’s unforgettable role in Titanic as Rose DeWitt Bukater.
Winslet’s large gemstone earrings were highlighted by her effortlessly pulled together bun. Her makeup included a glossy pink lip, bold eyebrows and peach cheeks.
Winslet was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama for her role as a photojournalist in Lee and Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Television Anthology Series as a fictional dictator in The diet.
In total, the actress has been nominated 14 times since 1996 and has won five Golden Globes so far. Winslet’s nominations are the only ones either project has received.
In the World War II-inspired film, LeeWinslet plays Lee Miller, a 20th-century American model-turned-photojournalist who reported for British Vogue from the front alongside the Allied forces in 1944 and 1945.
The film picks up in the late 1930s, as Nazi Germany’s power in Europe increases and Miller becomes involved in a relationship with an art dealer named Roland Penrose (Alexander Skarsgård), according to the synopsis. Once World War II broke out, Lee began working for British Vogue and became continually frustrated by the limitations placed on women photographers that left her working only in England during the war effort.

The diet is Winslet’s third HBO limited series, following Mildred Piercefor which she won an Emmy as a tough and ambitious waitress, and Easttown mare, for which she won another Emmy.
The diet “tells the story of life within the walls of a modern authoritarian regime as it unravels,” according to its synopsis. “After not leaving the palace for some time, Chancellor Elena Vernham (Winslet) becomes increasingly paranoid and unstable and turns to an unstable soldier, Herbert Zubak (Matthias Schoenaerts), as an unlikely confidant. As Zubak’s influence over the chancellor grows, so do Elena’s attempts to expand her power, ultimately leading to the fracturing of the palace and the country around her.
Hugh Grant worked on the film with Winslet, which was their first film together in 29 years, since the 1995 Jane Austen adaptation. Sense and sensitivity. Grant, 64, also received a Golden Globe nomination this year for his role in Heretic.
“It was honestly amazing because I haven’t really seen him since Senses and sensitivityand as you say, that’s a very, very long time – three decades,” Winslet said. Entertainment tonight at the show’s New York premiere last February. “I was just excited to walk into a room and play with him as this kind of more adult version of myself.”
