You *really* like the state fair.
MINNEAPOLIS —
1. Minnesota State Fair
You bet Great Minnesota Reunion has dominated our entertainment coverage this year.
From The chef’s reactions tell his subscribers he would look for his “stretch pants” when he arrived at attendance records over several days has new foodsMinnesotans have their finger on the pulse of the State Fair in 2024.
2. Season 8 of “Love is Blind” falls head over heels with Minneapolis singles
Based on my own personal research, there are only a few things Minnesotans love more than being Minnesotans: seeing their fellow Minnesotans represent them on the national stage.
And lucky for us, that’s exactly what we’ll get when “Love is Blind” returns to Netflix for its eighth season in February.
3. The Basilica Block Party officially returns in 2024, with a new location
Summer 2024 marked the “triumphant return” of one of the Twin Cities’ most beloved music events:The Basilica neighborhood party.
After a two-year hiatus, Minnesota music fans were thrilled to learn that the festival would take on new digs on St. Paul’s Boom Island and feature headliners like Goo Goo Dolls and The Fray.
4. Country superstar Keith Urban announces surprise show at Fine Line in Minneapolis
The summer surprises didn’t stop at the basilica, however. Some music fans were also delighted to learn at the last minute that country superstar Keith Urban would play a set at Fine Line in Minneapolis in June.
Unsurprisingly, the show sold out almost immediately after Urban announced it on X – but that didn’t stop ticket seekers from holding out hope.
5. Sundance Film Festival
KARE’s top five local entertainment stories of 2024 were rounded out with a special announcement aimed at Minnesota movie fanatics.
The city of Minneapolis has submitted its official application to host the Sundance Film Festival in 2027 after festival organizers said earlier in the year that they would “explore viable locations in the United States to host the Sundance Film Festival beginning in 2027.”
At the end, the city failed to make the list of finalists – but as has been proven with December screening of “A Complete Unknown”, the city is ready to seize other opportunities to get closer.
