Bengals receiver Jermaine Burton I haven’t traveled in Pittsburgh for the regular season finale. His absence was attributed to a coach’s decision. The probable reason for this decision was revealed on Wednesday.
THE Cincinnati Investigator reports that Burton was accused of assaulting a woman he was dating. She ultimately refused to file a complaint.
The assault was reported on the morning of December 30, via a 911 call.
“Jermaine Burton from the Bengals just broke into my house,” the accuser says on the 911 recording. “He broke my phone. . . . He was quite violent. He does a lot of things that I don’t tolerate.
The 19-year-old woman was slightly injured but did not require medical attention. She first wanted to file a complaint. She then changed her mind.
“We are aware of information relating to Jermaine Burton,” the Bengals said. Applicant in a statement. “We will continue to evaluate as we gather additional details and will have no further comment at this time.”
Burton is separately, according to the Applicantthreatened with eviction from his apartment. The eviction procedure began on December 17.
Alabama’s 2024 third-round pick played in 14 games with one start as a rookie. He caught four passes for 107 yards, on 14 targets.
