Louisville, Ky. (WDRB) – Two twins who are educational students in public schools in Jefferson County were honored on Wednesday.

Danyelle and Dominque Tucker both competed for the unified sports of Southern High School. Danyelle participated in athletics, basketball and was a member of the Southern joy team.

She now frequents the Ahrens vocational school and works at the Omni hotel in downtown Louisville. Dominique is currently a student in Southern who participates in athletics. He also participated in basketball in Southern.

The brothers and sisters each received a commemorative plaque for their participation.

“They have people who cry and shout them for them through the finish line and without that, they would never feel that,” said Jennifer Tucker, the mother of the brothers and sisters. “Unified sports are important for their confidence and well-being.”

The objective of the event was to present the successes of the twins and to encourage more athlete students to participate.
