Billings, Mont. – Jack Debourg, a double -meaning show for Billings Central, was recognized for his hard work and his performance on the football field.
Debourg has been a selection of all states from the second in the last two seasons, playing both the ball carrier and the secondary. He helped lead the Rams to an undefeated season and a state championship. Thinking about the season, Debourg said: “The winning state must be the icing in mind. There are a million memories with all the guys, but to be able to do the job at home, you cannot beat him. Everyone still thinks of your senior year, winning your last football match and I was really grateful to win my last football games.”
Debourg ended his season with impressive statistics, including 20 affected in total, 836 yards on the ground and 46 plated. Despite its success in attack, Debourg has a preference for defense. He shared: “To really score is what seems best, putting points on the set because you are looking for and see six. But for me, if I could only play in a way of playing in defense. There is really nothing better. If I could do it, it would be to score in defense is the best game you could have in football.”
In the future, Debourg will continue his football career in Montana Tech in Butte. He expressed his enthusiasm at the idea of joining the Oars, declaring: “Just super good energy. The same thing that made me love this season of senior football and succeeded. I had the impression that when I went there, it was super optimistic, hoping for the future, they have also done well in the past, but the future looks really brilliant and I also get along with all the guys there and the defensive coordinator.” “”
The proximity of Montana Tech with Billings is an additional advantage for Debourg, allowing it to stay close to its support system. He underlined: “It means a lot. It’s cool, my parents will be able to see me play at each home game which is really special, if I was going further, I would have failed to have them there and this support.”
The Midland round table banquet will be held on May 12 at 7 p.m. at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center.
