Almost three decades after the mysterious disappearance of Robert William Commu, Ontario Provincial Police Make a renewed push for the answers in the cold case.
Known in frequent areas along the Grand River, communicated was missing after failing to go home in 1996. Despite in -depth research efforts at the time, no trace of him was never found. It was seen for the last time on March 31 of the same year in the canton of South Dumfries, a small community in southwest Ontario.
Brant County OPP received reports suggesting that communicated for the last time with two unidentified men in a van only a few days before his disappearance.
Throughout the year, the police followed the training in vain but with the evolution of the technology, the investigators hope that the use of DNA will lead to answers.
Const. Jonathan Bueckert told Global News that the investigators collected samples of Parental DNA from the Commun family to keep the file.
“These samples are kept in a database, and if a match is never found, it can help us confirm the identity of an individual,” he said.

Since the disappearance of a commu, the investigators have since interviewed family members, colleagues and partners, but the case remains unresolved.

In addition to official efforts, a Facebook group entitled “Help find Robert Commu” has become a space for friends and loved ones to share memories and raise awareness.
Amanda Whitelaw, a parent parent, described him as someone who has deeply affected his life.
“You were a paternal figure for me, and you took me out of bad situations,” wrote Whitelaw in an article on the page.
“I want one day that you would come back and let us know what really happened.”
At the time of his disappearance, communicates was described as six feet high and weighing 180 pounds. He had long brown hair and blue eyes.
He had a lion tattoo with wings on the upper right arm. It was seen for the last time wearing a white leather jacket with black sleeves and a red maple sheet on the back.
The police continue to work closely with the national center for missing people and unidentified remains, and say that modern tools such as GPS follow -up and social platforms play a key role in the survey.
Anyone with information on the disappearance of a Communication is encouraged to contact the police.
The advice submitted anonymously through Stoppers crime can also be eligible for a cash reward of up to $ 2,000.
