Carmen and Bob Tapio have made their lives to build people. Carmen is the founder and CEO of North End Teleservices LLC and several other companies in the city of Omaha. The company, founded in 2015, provides government entities and state, federal and local commercial enterprises, with state -of -the -art solutions and services. Bob has had a career in the food and catering industry and has always believed that most people can meet around food. Previously, he was director of food services at Boys Town, an organization that provides career services to thousands of children on a national scale.
Carmen and Bob have deep roots in the community. Bob grew up in South Omaha with his eight -year -old family and frequented South High School. Carmen originally came to Nebraska with her Air Force military family in 1975. Although her career brought her back to the world, she has always called Omaha at home. Their daughter Caityln is a raw material merchant and their son Josh runs an insurance agency. Josh and his wife Anne are graduated from UNO.
Their love for their community forced them to make diverse investments, not only financially but also by community philanthropy and to sit on the advice.
Bob sits at the Fernagan League of Devotion Board. Carmen is the president of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce and sits on many other advice, including the Foundation of the University of Nebraska, the Omaha Zoological Society, and is chairman of the board of directors of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce. Together, they serve the Capital Campaign Committee at the University of Nebraska.
Their passion for people and the city of Omaha led them to invest in causes and projects in which they believe. One of these causes is the preparation of the CBA, a collegial preparatory program for students from all walks of life, designed to create a diversified talent pipeline, from Lycée to UNO CBA on Omaha’s workforce thanks to the summer camps of the preparation academy.
“What we see is that early exhibition to everything that is like the arts, education, science, music, culinary arts, sports, etc. is very important. What young people believe possible, and their early experience and interaction help them understand what is accessible to them.
In the fall of 2020, UNO’s senior management announced new areas of strategic investment of inequality, social justice, race and class in our society. There was a call at the university scale for programs focused on these areas, with the possibility for some to be selected to receive temporary funding. The CBA PREP ACADEMY was one of them and officially started its operations in October 2021. The mission of the CBA PREP ACADEMY is to provide the academic skills, the exhibition and support necessary to succeed in college and the workplace subsequently to all students, including those who are first generation, low-income and / or under-represented.
In the end, the program aims to raise subressource populations within the Omaha community, to diversify the student body of the UNO CBA and to create a diverse pipeline of ABC graduates which will strengthen OMAHA labor.
“We love the University of Nebraska system and leadership. I had the opportunity to work in close collaboration with Rebecca Atkins (director of preparation for the preparation) and her team as well as the dean of the ABC Michelle Trawick and the faculty, and we just have the impression that it is a very good recipe for success for the preparation academy, “said Tapio.

One of their passions is to help revitalize northern Omaha. Investing in a program like the CBA Prep Academy is an excellent way to help education in the community and young people in northern Omaha, an often prohibited district of the city.
“We are all being part of the revitalization of the North Omaha through the Téléservators of North End and other companies. Tapio said.
Tapios say they want their inheritance to be changing their lives, a person at a time, and the CBA Prep Academy is a way to do so.
“The North End TV mission and our mission is to take care of holistic people and help them overcome the obstacles that prevent them from being economically independent. We want to be part of the abolition of obstacles and exposing young people in our entire city to what is possible at an early age. We want our inheritance to be changed at the same time, ”said Tapio.
