Science Night gave baseball fans the opportunity to interact with robots, dinosaurs and even more in a match.
Albuquerque, NM – In Isotopes Park on Saturday evening, people came to see baseball, but they also left with a little scientific lesson.
While the isotopes have been struck for the cowboys of Sugar Land Space, organizations like the New Mexico Museum for Natural History and Science and World Robotics with non -profit called First have been busy exhibiting fans of isotopes, young and old in the world of science.
“Science Night is an opportunity to engage with another type of audience that he may not have the opportunity to perhaps show their goods in front of thousands of people,” said the director general of isotopes, John Traub.
The isotopes play 75 home games throughout the season, and many of these matches have different themes to help hire the community. The five series of their series with the space cowboys was the scientific evening.
“It’s great for our fans to be able to see them too,” said Traub. “It’s a really exciting period for everyone. And, you know, this is just the promotions we make. ”
The fans have come closer and personal with the traveling T-Rex dinosaur or have seen different museum fossils. In addition, they were also able to learn the attraction of robotics by taking the joysticks of the robots and by controlling them from the first hand.
“Our goal in First is like a whole community, it’s just to involve so many people in robotics and engineering and all the things that accompany him,” said Connor Vannote, pupil of Eldorado high school. “And this is an excellent opportunity for us to show what robotics can mean. It does not mean like a humanoid. It could be something that does a simple task or complicated tasks.”
But it does not end after the last throw. People interested in what they learned from science night could decide to connect to the programs on display and perhaps join them.
“It’s always so fun to see like people smiling when they drive robots,” said Vannote. “You see how cool?”
