Portsmouth, go – The Portsmouth Ministry of Economic Development will organize its annual event “How to do business in Portsmouth” on Wednesday May 28 at Tidewater Community College – Portsmouth from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is free and open to all business owners, sellers and entrepreneurs who wish to learn to start a small business and connect with city contracts, services and support.
“Whether you are looking to start a new business or develop a new existing business, this event is designed to eliminate any mystery to do business in the city of Portsmouth,” said economic development director Brian Donahue. “We want business owners to have all the tools they need to succeed in Portsmouth.”
This year’s event has been extended to include new discussion groups of experts and sessions in small groups in order to easier facilitate business owners to obtain real advice and a better understanding of the city’s supply process, said Donahue.
The event comes in the heels of the state of the city of the city of the mayor Shannon Glover last week, where he presented Portsmouth as “Small Business Capitol” in the region and announced that 742 new companies were created last year. He also announced the name of the new city innovation district – LINC – a new commercial development center for the city center and downtown.
The event “How to do business in Portsmouth” is designed for start-ups, entrepreneurs, sellers and anyone interested in doing business with the city of Portsmouth.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet the city’s decision -makers, inquire about the supply process and to hear prosperous business owners directly in the city. The event is free but the seats are limited to 200 participants. City officials recommend participants to pre-register for the event to Accessportsmouthva.com To secure their place.
