Swiecki noted an increase in the production of North American Bev for vehicles and light, medium and heavy vehicles, especially in the region. Us Light and BEV showed modest overall growth but strong growth until 2030, commercial trucks and buses seeing a small Bev and increasing segment.
With these results, Swiecki said that the region can prepare to become a reliable place for emerging non -automobile mobility sectors, such as the construction and agriculture industries, aerospace and the Maritimes, to increase the development and employment opportunities.
“This growth of Bev … these are new jobs, and they do not necessarily come to Michigan … (or the) region of Detroit unless we are ready for them,” he said. “If we play a good host for these entities in these mobility sectors (and) if we help them settle in the region, then we can be there when they go (to) a very high volume, let’s hope , after 2030. “
