British Scientific Journal Nature’s British survey realized earlier this month revealed that 1,200 scientists based in the United States, more than 75% of respondents, planned to leave the country due to disruption of science promoted by the Trump administration.
These include proposals for massive federal financing gels and scientific research reductions that could crush laboratories across the country.
The survey respondents said that Europe and Canada were their favorite destinations, and universities in Europe have already started to capitalize on this drain, according to an article published by nature on March 27.
While the Nature article has not presented a complete list of countries the respondents planned to move, a country that has experienced an important influx of American scientists in recent years is China.
