JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Idaho schools focused on technology as part of Computer Science Education Week.
It aims to get students interested in computer science, such as coding, artificial intelligence and robotics.
At Jérôme High School, students participated in an hour of code, during which all participants were able to learn more about computer programming.
“Helping schools celebrate the importance of cybersecurity, ensure children learn internet safety and also understand the importance of computing across all professions,” said Sonya Haines, ISEE Stem Hub Coordinator . “From writing an email to, you know, how to send information over the Internet.”
Computer Science Education Week takes place every two weeks in December and any student can participate.
