While consumers are planning to reduce spending in an uncertain economic environment, retailers, restaurant channels and services based on services are looking to evolve to better serve their customers.
During the recent ICSC lounge in Las Vegas, during the round table “General session: trends, challenges and opportunities”, industry leaders have detailed the way consumers have changed their behavior – and migration – in recent years.
“For us, the big change in consumption has been towards health and well-being and the concept of” food as medicine, “said Dave McGlinchey, director of development at the Market Spruts Farmers. “Many consumers really move to this.”
McGlinchey also added that in the grocery space, consumers visit more stores than ever, which was beneficial for Germs.
“Consumers will go to a conventional grocery store, then when they need fresh products, oxen nourished in grass and attributes focused, they come to us,” he said. “During the covid, people have consolidated grocery trips, and I think that part of our acceleration of growth was that people started going to several places to shop now. The combination of these two things really worked in our favor. ”
Health and well-being as a trend, perhaps without surprise, have led to big gains for the gymnasium and fitness industry, which quickly takes Vacant anchor space.
