ICBC apologizes to its customers for long waiting times for driver’s tests.
The company said that due to an increase in demand and a shortage of examiners, customers had to wait up to spend a test.
Some customers checked at the start of the morning for cancellations or travel long distances to take exams in a smaller and less frequent location, but there are few other options available.
“We answered,” Greg Harper, ICBC spokesperson, told Global News.
“Currently, we are hiring more drivers examiners, and we currently have more drivers examiners who make overtime to try to increase availability, and we hope that the availability of tests on the road on the Lower Mainland and the island of Vancouver will improve here in a few months.”

Harper said the increase in demand for road trials began at the end of last year.
“We apologize to our customers,” he said.
“We hope that the availability of tests on the road in the Lower Mainland, on the island of Vancouver, will be better in a few months.”

ICBC has 126 locations where driver tests are offered.
Harper said they had hired 10 drivers examiners so far and hoped for 10 others.
Part of the problem is that around half of ICBC customers fail their first test, added Harper, they therefore urge people to study and practice before passing their first test.
