To accelerate Maddie’s treatment, Sodhi has entered action. By sharing his story with friends and acquaintances made during his career in the technology sector, he was able to bring together a team of scientists, doctors, data scientists, IA experts and IT specialists, who have developed a system powered by AI together capable of quickly analyzing the results of Maddie patients and cross references with millions of scientific publications and existing data.
Their system discovered critical but previously unknown details on Maddie’s state, which helped Maddie’s doctor quickly dumbstanding the right specialists. At 13 months old, she underwent open heart surgery to correct her heart crumbling.
“We have essentially asked a lot of questions to have, just as you would for a human doctor, and I brought this information to the doctor saying:” This is what I found. How can this information help? “” Said Sodhi. “Maddie’s doctor was shocked when he saw how much we were able to discover Maddie’s state in this way, and that’s why we were able to accelerate the care she needed.”
Shortly after Maddie surgery, Sodhi founded Maddie Biogenetics, or Maddiebio, a biotechnology startup in order to take advantage of AI, robotics and genetic publishing technologies to create a platform that can help identify potential treatments for patients like Maddie with rare genetic conditions. Above all, for patients and health care systems, Maddiebio’s approach could also make personalized medicine easily accessible and affordable to all.
“I’m not here to create a drug of $ 3 million, or even a million dollars medication,” said Sodhi. “I am here to build an affordable solution to help people with the rarest diseases get the treatment they need. How to bring precision medicine to the masses? This is the real Gamechanger. “
UC San Diego: the right place at the right time
Shortly after having founded Maddie Bio in 2023, Sodhi and his family moved to San Diego so that he can network with the regional community of major biotechnology and identify partners who could help to advance his dream on a Maddiebio scale for general use and adoption throughout the health care community. He drives a Uber as a side leg to support his family and help finance his dream to help others.
