This test also told is based on a conversation with Caroline Baudino, a 53 -year -old content creator and mother of two children based in Los Angeles. The following has been modified for duration and clarity.
Before becoming a household in a home, I worked as an actor and television host in California. We would launch a live entertainment program on what is happening in Hollywood, and I did it until I give birth to my youngest son.
I went from my own show to be a housewife, which was a huge turning point for me. Not to say that children are not exciting. But let’s be honest: everyday life can be monotonous and insulating. It’s really difficult, and not enough women talking about it.
I was in mom mode and I was just mom. I volunteered at school 24/7 to the point that I became vice-president of the school board. I did not have life to myself and I depended on my husband for each little thing. Honestly, I thought it was over for me.
But there was a major moment “aha”.
I had to find my spark
In 2019, I walked in my house like a zombie when I received a phone call. It was the scary day of my life.
My mother called me crying hysterically and said my father had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, that two years of tax had not been paid and that she did not know where nothing was. Now it was my job to take care of them. I was now in charge of everything.
My hands were shaking and I said to myself: “What did it just happen?” I passed a mirror, I looked and I did not recognize myself. Where is the hard -binding tough man who would never depend on anyone? Panic, stress and fear honestly frightened the shit from me.
I said to myself: “I have to gather my shit.”
Everyone says it’s over when you reach the average age, but every middle -aged woman I know is incredibly intelligent, capable and multidimensional.
And what happens when children leave? You have 20 or 30 years left, what are you going to do with it? I intend to make them incredible. I want to earn money, have my own job and have a career.
Caroline Baudino motivates women through her social media accounts. Caroline Baudino
I knew that fashion came to me easily and I loved it. So, I said, “I’m going to bring myself back to life and what is this first step? I got up and dress.”
It’s my motto: “Get up, dress, let’s do that.”
I started to publish videos on social networks under Shop with Caroline in 2019 and I launched my website, being Caroline, during the Pandemic COVVI-19.
My goal with videos is to motivate women to believe in themselves and bet on themselves. It is to remind them that they are also important. You don’t need to sacrifice everything to be a good mom, woman or girl.
Now I have a diverse commercial portfolio
My husband has always been my biggest supporter. I focus on creation and it makes the company.
When we started, he analyzed different social media platforms and told me that I had to go up on Tiktok. I was already on Facebook and Instagram. I said to myself: “Are you crazy? I’m not dancing on Tiktok. I am 50 years old.” He said, “No, not dancing. We have to diversify our platforms.”
So we did it. I started throwing videos there, and we had fun. Then, one night in 2024, we became viral on three videos and we woke up to 70,000 new Instagram subscribers. From there, we went from 38,000 subscribers to 500,000 in two months. Tiktok and Facebook were almost 200,000 at the time.
After that, we completed and we made it a real business.
We have a podcast, “Coming in Hot” and sells goods, which have sold twice. We earn money through affiliate links, brand offers, speaking appearances, events and advertisements. We have also invested in three technological companies.
For me, the greatest success has been to build our community.
I brought girls to a restaurant and say, “You made my mother smile.” I also received messages from husbands saying: “Thank you for bringing my wife back to life.”
I have always been very faithful to myself because I didn’t want to make a show. Authenticity and confidence were essential to build a community.
So many women in their forties do not know how to start again, but you are intelligent and capable. Yes, you have to work hard and understand it, but it is possible. It’s not over.
