LODI – Wine and vineyards with Home Runs and Touches, the city of California of Lodi seeks to become a lucrative sporting destination.

The first stage of the city to become a sports utopia is to determine whether their facilities are up to par. A survey paid by Visit Lodi will examine what stadiums and arenas like Grape Bowl are capable of hosting.

“We must make sure that we diversify. Wine tourism was obviously our strength in Lodi,” said Wes Rhea, CEO of Visit Lodi.

Rhea said the investigation was scheduled for next month.

“It’s about exploring and if we have to do it, and if we want it. It may not be next year, it could be five to 10 years later,” He declared.

The objective of the survey is mainly the Grape Bowl football field with lights, lawn and stadium seats for 3,500 people. He will also examine Tony Zupo Field nearby for more baseball tournaments and other events that attract crowds.

“I think it’s great for the community, get a little traffic in town,” said Raquel Paler.

Paler’s Family has the Mexican restaurant in Angelo in the city center.

The interior of the restaurant is a line with images of local sports teams thanking Angelo for donations.

“We have sponsored local parks and recs, small leagues and small children, so having more sports in town will create more activities for children,” said Paler.

In addition to helping the city center, Rhea said that a big boost could come to Lodi hotels.

“Bringing visitors to the advantages to our residents because visitors come, they spend money in our restaurants and shops and hotels,” he said.

The city also makes its own financial analysis of their sports complexes and also waits to see what Lodi offers.
Then they will determine if the costs or prices of the tickets should increase.
