3. Advance the skills of digital health developers through immersive workshops
We have organized several SST workshops around the world for hundreds of developers. On the one hand, we collaborated with Kabarak University in Kenya to host bootcamps for computer science students and budding innovators to learn more about the key concepts and tools needed to create digital health applications. And in India, we organized a workshop for developers in the largest digital health conference to provide hands-on coding and creation sessions on SST components.
4. Explore new AI capabilities
Although OHS provides core technical infrastructure for digital health solutions, AI-based capabilities also present potential for developers. Google has already made available a suite of open weight models, Healthcare AI Developer Foundationsto help developers more easily create AI models for healthcare applications. The OHS team is also working with the developer community to understand their needs with the goal of creating the enabling infrastructure that will make it easier for them to create AI-based solutions in the near future.
5. Cultivate an OSH community
Based on feedback from a thriving global community of developers about their requirements, we’ve introduced new technical features in OHS to help developers build faster and more securely. We also recently launched resources like a educational video series so developers can easily start building on OHS. Since its inception, OHS has been a community initiative and we are delighted to recognize contributions of the many developers who continue to make SST successful. In the words of Khyati Vyas, OHS Contributor at ArguSoft India, “Working on Open Health Stack has been an eye-opening experience for me. It’s inspiring to collaborate on an open source platform that fosters innovation and improves the accessibility of health data for better patient outcomes. »
As we look toward 2025, we are excited to continue working with our partners and the global digital health ecosystem to expand the OHS footprint globally. Ultimately, our goal with OHS is to reduce the barriers that prevent developers and innovators from creating next-generation digital health solutions and improving care for people everywhere.
